Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa)
Awarded without coursework or dissertation.
For recognized monks, scholars, philanthropists, peace activists, educators, or global leaders.
Must be conferred after nomination + vetting by an academic council.
You can have categories such as:
> Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Buddhism & Peace Studies
> Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Humanitarian Leadership
> Doctor of Letters (D.Litt., Honoris Causa) – for literature, education, cultural work.
✅ Important: Make it clear it’s an honorary recognition, not an earned academic qualification.
Research-Based Doctorate (Earned but Flexible Duration)
Purpose: For experienced professionals or monks who have prior research or publications and want to submit work for evaluation.
Doctor of Philosophy (Research-Based / By Publication)
Duration: 2 years (can be extended to 3).
Mode: Independent research with supervisor + final thesis defense (online).
Entry: Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
Assessment: Submission of dissertation (40,000–60,000 words) + viva voce via video call.

Build international network and recognition around Buddhist peace education.
- Peace Ambassador Certification
Duration: 3–6 months (Online).
Curriculum: Buddhist peace principles, non-violence, conflict mediation, compassion in leadership.
After successful completion, title “Peace Ambassador of Lord Buddha International University” can be awarded.
Encourage them to organize peace or mindfulness activities in their country.
- Global Fellowship in Human Rights & Peace
> Postgraduate-level program for activists and educators.
> Includes online workshops, a peace project, and a final report.
Honorary & Visiting Designations
You can create an Honorary Academic Council that includes respected monks, educators, and researchers.
- Honorary Professor
> Given to scholars, monks, or experts who contribute to teaching, research, or outreach.
> Non-salaried, honorary status.
> They can deliver guest lectures or online sessions.
- Visiting Professor / Research Fellow
> Offered to foreign Buddhist scholars or peace activists.
> Helps strengthen global partnerships and academic visibility.
